Video shows plain clothed agents detain woman at Salt Lake airport baggage claim

The woman was identified as 39-year-old Marta Brizeyda Renderos Leiva, according to ICE officials. They said Leiva entered the US from El Salvador in 2007 and was given a final "removal in absentia" in Feb. 2020. Surveillance from the airport showed the agents leave their vehicle at the departures drop off, walk to where Leiva was near baggage claim, and took her into custody. In the footage, two officers responding to an "urgent assault call" were seen speaking to multiple people at a gas station near 2100 South and 300 West on Oct. 29. Throughout the incident, officers learned from witnesses that the man, identified as Jose Hernandez, 47, suffered a medical episode and collapsed. When the witnesses attempted to help Hernandez up, it was reportedly misinterpreted as an assault. Hernandez told officers his legs "gave out" causing him to fall. He said he didn't have any problems with the witnesses but claimed they wanted to be him up.
